E3 2009 Wishlist

Instead of ‘predictions’ this is going to be a ‘wishlist’ because predictions normally mean that you have some kind of information all I have is what I have read, and because of that I’ll just list what I’d love to see from what I know might happen.

While I try to not be biased, I am quite invested in Sony’s Playstation 3. I am also highly considering getting an Xbox360 mainly for Valve’s games. So I’ll be concentrating on those two consoles for this wishlist of things I’d like to see in this year’s E3. While Nintendo’s sales are still strong, there is absolutely nothing they can do to get my money right now, so I’ll mention them at the end… if I remember to.

Sony

• New UMD-less PSP (This has been confirmed as the PSP Go)
• Metal Gear 5 starring Raiden (Based on MGS4 engine)
• New Rockstar IP
• Gran Turismo 5 dated and GranTurismo Portable re-introduced
• God of War 3 dated (in 2009)
• SquareEnix announces exclusive games for PS3 (to make up for the FFXIII announcement from last year)
• MAG finally renamed as part of the SOCOM franchise.
• LittleBigPlanet Expansion

Few things that I don’t expect at all but would be killer announcements:

• Netflix support (long-shot I know)
• Valve’s games announced for PS3

Microsoft

• Zune HD has gaming capabilities (think iPhone style games through XBLA)
• New Halo game
• SquareEnix finishes stabbing Sony in the back announcing everything else for Xbox360
• Boxee-style front-end for Xbox360 for internet video
• Molyneux shows his new IP

Nintendo

• New Pikmin revealed
• New Zelda revealed
• Some other gimmick with an expensive plastic toy
• Pillows handed out at the start of the show
• Kid Icarus shines by his abscense.
