Caution with Ordering Model Kits Online

A few weeks ago I decided to get the Tallgeese III off of amazon as a quick weekend project to practice. I also couldnt find the W-Gundam Zero Custom from that same set so the Tallgeese III would have to do. I got it for $33 off of the Amazon Marketplace, by a seller that supports Amazon fulfillment so I could use my Amazon Prime with it. The box was completely screwed.

What the Tallgeese III should look like after building.

This is what the box looked like when I got it.
As you can see there were some air pillows, but only on one side of the box, and it did nothing to stop the pressure from completely squishing the Gundam's box. I have gotten kits online in the past and they have all been okay, I think that the big problem here was Amazon's fulfillment center expecting too much from the Gundam's box and their own box. When its in a truck with tons of stuff on top of it, they will give. Also, dont be shy about submitting a return and asking for a full refund. I contacted Amazon and they processed a return very quickly, just know that if this happens to you the model could still be okay. In my case there were a few runners that were busted however. The pressure had caused parts of the plastic to snap off of their position on the runner and caused some uneven cuts. Since this is a HG kit, I didn't think it was worth the bother to try and fix the kit by sanding it down until it was even, and filling in the big problem areas with epoxy. I will be getting a few more kits from HobbyWave on Wednesday and I'll be posting pictures of the box here. Update (2/22): I found some pictures of how HobbyWave sent the box before, I had no problems with that shipment but you can see how the box is full and doesn't really have that much space.
